Helping Youth to Succeed

Through this program, Thrifting 4 Gifting, collaborates with local foster family agencies as well as school personnel to provide needed assistance for children entering the foster care system. Thrifting 4 Gifting provides service in the form of  basic essentials of clothing and necessary supplies to children who often have nothing with them when they enter the program. Our services include a duffle bag with one week’s worth of new clothing, a hygiene kit, a toy and a book which will be ready to be picked up within 48 hours. Graduating seniors may choose to get up to $250 toward an ASB card, a yearbook, a prom ticket, tuxedo and/or a Grad night ticket. In addition, Christmas presents and summer activities for youth are provided to the Foster Families Agencies for children participating in their program.

We also support Transitional Housing through Kamali’I Foster Families Agency, for those who have aged out of the foster care system. These young adults are provided with apartments and support as they work toward becoming independent. We include them during the Christmas holidays with gifts, and we supply the agency with bedding, kitchen, and home good essentials so that they can set up each apartment.
